Gail Ann Smith Nashua, New Hampshire Obituary

Gail Ann Smith

NASHUA- Gail Smith, 71, died peacefully on January 17, 2021 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua. She is the beloved wife of Mark Smith with whom she shared just shy of 50 years of marriage.

Gail was born in Nashua on July 20, 1949 and was the daughter of the late Frederick and Rose (Gloddy) Provencher. She was a graduate of Alvirne High School with the class of 1967.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed in the customer service department for Soft Shoe for many years.

Gail loved everything, especially if it wasn’t too cold. She enjoyed dining out and hosting friends with her husband, spending days at the beach with anyone who would go with her, and warm summer days kayaking or playing outside with her grandchildren. Some sunshine, a good book, a glass of wine, and good people were all she needed to be happy.

Above all, Gail loved her family, who were everything to her. She lived for get-togethers, often reflecting on past events where she shared laughs and good times with her husband, children, nephews, niece, and closest friends whom she came to call family. By the grill or campfire, Gail would settle in and take joy in those who surrounded her.

In addition to her husband, Mark, she is survived by her two children, Joshua Smith and his wife Charlotte of Humble, TX and Megan Landry and her husband Shawn of Merrimack; her four grandchildren, Gerard and Hannah Smith and Tucker and Bailey Landry. She is also survived by her two siblings, Diane Whiting of Chelmsford and Bryon Provencher; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to Gail’s WALK THROUGH visitation on SATURDAY, January 23rd from 10 until 11 AM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. Her Funeral Service will follow in the Funeral Home at 11 AM. Interment will take place at the convenience of her family.

Sorry for your loss. Today at work just heard from a customer of her passing. We worked together at HL before the pandemic. She was a great person.

I am saddened to hear of Gail's passing. I remember her fondly. I remember always seeing her (and Mark) at the Neverett's house when my family had stopped to visit my aunt and uncle. It always seemed that family would stop at the Neverett's on Frida...
