Leonard William Howard Obituary

Leonard William Howard was the middle child of the late Clyde Albert Howard Jr, and Geraldine Watson. Leonard was born on December 18th, 1968 at the George Washington University Hospital in Washington D.C. In his youth he attended the D.C. and Maryland public schools, where he graduated from Bladensburg High School in 1987 and went on to attend Prince Georges Community College. Leonard peacefully transitioned from this earthly life to celebrate his eternal reward in Heaven on Monday, January 11th, 2021. Leonard William Howard was an extremely humble and happy guy, he always had a helpful and comforting hand to lend to someone and he always had something funny to say to put a smile on someone’s face. He was a devoted and faithful Husband to his wife Linette Michelle Howard, and he was an Amazing supportive Dad and Father to his three children, DeVon William Howard, Lynesha Renee Howard and Markel Semaj Adeyemi. Leonard leaves cherished and happy memories behind to his Mother, Pastor Geraldine Watson, his oldest brother Elder Kevin J. Howard, his middle brother Vincent Howard and his sister Stacy Howard. To his nieces Samantha Howard, Tierra Boulware and Savannah Boulware and his nephews Denzyl Marshall and Dontel Boulware, and a vast host of relatives in Ohio and friends throughout the world. Leonard loved to sing, and although the Bible says “make a joyful noise unto the Lord all ye lands” his singing was nowhere near joyful to others, “laughing out loud”, but he didn’t care he sang anyway because it was joyful to him, and apparently it was joyful to the Lord too because He let him sing until he couldn’t sing anymore. I bet he’s singing in Heaven right now, with a better voice though! “Laughing Out Loud Again”. Leonard would always refer to himself as the “Overweight Lover”, as the late rapper Heavy D was one of his favorite rappers. Leonard also had so many different sayings and quotes for me as his wife. He would always tell me that he had a “plethora” of information, as there was almost never a question that I would ask him that he didn’t have the answer to. He also would often remind me that one of the keys to life was to play “Chess and not Checkers”, he said that I needed to always be three steps ahead of the enemy. He was a humble and gentle giant of a man with a kind and loving spirit, and he didn’t mind serving anyone, because he was indeed a servant of God. So when you see a big Handsome guy out somewhere holding a door for someone, or helping an old lady across the street, that’s him saying “I’m still with you”! Well Done Poopie, You Taught Us Well and You Did Good! Rest in Peace.
