January 21st, 1947 - January 17th, 2021

With peace in her heart, and her usual dignity and grace,  Karen left us after a courageous battle, on Sunday night past.  We are broken hearted, yet eternally grateful to God for our beautiful wife, mother, daughter, sister, auntie and friend to so many, many people.  What a gift she was to each and every one of us.  Karen was surrounded by her beloved family, in the home and gathering place she and Winston so lovingly built and welcomed everyone into with open arms.  No need to explain the extraordinary person she was, anyone who was blessed to have their lives touched by her immediately knew she was special.  To give, welcome, care for, help, encourage, lift up and show kindness to others was her passion and her gift.  There aren’t words to express the hole that will be left in the hearts of all those who knew and loved Sista K, Mama K, Mamacita, Nanny... a beautiful bright light that shone her warmth wherever she went.  How greatly she will be missed, and how warmly welcomed she will be embraced by her father John,  sister-in-law Rosie, step-son Mikey, and all the loved ones of hers that passed on before her.  We take comfort in the fact that she is reunited with them, and we are so incredibly grateful to have been blessed to have her in our lives for this long, and in our hearts for eternity.Beloved wife of Winston E. Archer.  Cherished daughter of Beatrice Ellen Burdock (née Arundel) and the late John Alfred Burdock (2003) of Woodstock.  Dear mother of Angela Dee Rivier and her son Jordan Bard; and Darian (Brenda) Brown and their children Justus, Acacia, Selah and Eden.  Dear sister of John Charles Burdock (Rosemary [2014]) and their sons Jesse (Naomi) and their children Ayla & Eilan; and Matthew (Michelle). Loving step-mother of Christopher, Diane, and the late (2020) Michael Archer(Marisa) and step-grandmother of Branton, Taren and Tamra-Lee. Cremation has taken place with a private family interment at a later date. A Celebration Of Life will be planned for summer 2021 when circumstances allow and we will ensure all are contacted or made aware well in advance.  If desired, contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or the VON-Sakura House (hospice) would be appreciated and may be arranged through the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, Woodstock (519-539-0004).  Personal condolences may be viewed and shared online at www.brockandvisser.com
