Beverly Ann Braaten Obituary

Beverly Ann (Bennett) Braaten was born March 23, 1932 in Starbuck, MN to Chester and Bertha (Kleven) Bennett. Beverly graduated from Glenwood High School and Minneapolis School of Business.  After marrying John, they farmed in Nora township and then moved to Alexandria.  She loved being outside and enjoyed riding horses, camping, square dancing, bus trips and snowmobiling, selling her last snowmobile only 6 years ago.  Between her and John, they were very handy – able to fix, build, paint most anything and helped many people over the years with their skills.  She loved to bake and some of her specialties were lefse and flat bread at Christmas time.

Beverly passed away peacefully on January 17, 2021 with family by her side at the age of 88.  She is survived by daughter: Terry (Jim) Johnson; granddaughters: Christine (Neil) Henken and Jenn Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband: John; parents: Chester and Bertha Bennett; and siblings: Marge Benson, Lavina Mortenson, Bud Bennett, Glen Bennett, Joyce Harvey and Sharon Wenner.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Alexandria, with visitation one-hour prior at the church. This service will be live-streamed and recorded for family and friends to view from Beverly’s obituary page on the Anderson Funeral Home website at 11 AM on Friday. Burial will be at Nora Lutheran Cemetery.
