Yervant Bardakjian Obituary


Latham - Yervant Bardakjian, 94, died Sunday, January 17, 2021, at  St. Peter's Hospice Inn.

Born in Aleppo, Syria , he was son of the late Hagop Bardakjian and Nectar Manoukian Bardakjian and husband of the late Rozina Manoukian Bardakjian who passed away in 1996. After being raised in Aleppo, Syria, Yervant and his wife Rozina moved to the United States settling in the Troy area in 1984. 

Yervant was very involved with Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Church  where he was an ordained deacon, led bible studies and was a dean of Sunday school. He was an avid reader.

Survivors include his children, Hagop Bardakjian, Aleppo, Syria,  Hratchia K. (Talar) Bardakjian, Burbank, CA, Raffi (Leeza) Bardakjian, Albany, and  Nayeri (Levon) Elebyjian, Latham; his grandchildren, Yervant H. Bardakjian, Avo Elebyjian, Rosila Elebyjian, Yervant R. Bardakjian, Arek Shant Bardakjian, Yervant J. Bardakjian and Joseph Bardakjian; his sister-in-law, Alice Bardakjian; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Hrant Bardakjian and Mary Stepanian.

Relatives and friends may call at the Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Church  255 Spring Avenue Troy on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 10 - 12PM followed by a Funeral Service at 12NOON. 

Face covering and social distancing are required both outside and inside during visitation and services.

Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery Menands.
