Charles Gilbert Salazar was born December 2, 1954 in Columbus, Indiana to Gilbert and Vona Salazar. He passed from this life on January 18, 2021. Chuck and his wife, LaBlenda (Phelps) Salazar met when he was 15 years old and she was 14. They married on November 4, 1973 in Evansville, Indiana and have been together for 50 years. They have been a part of the Sand Springs community since 1981 and together raised 1 son, Wesley Charles, and 1 daughter, Brandi Ann. Chuck loved his family dearly and spending time with them was one of his favorite things to do. Chuck had many interests and hobbies throughout his lifetime. He loved collecting sports cards, antiques and comic books with his son, Wesley. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting, knife collecting, leather crafting and muscle cars. Chuck was a long-time International Scout enthusiast, loved airplanes and for 10 years was a Material Logistics Specialist at American Airlines. He also truly enjoyed watching and taking pictures of sunsets. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Larry Salazar. He is survived by his wife, LaBlenda, daughter, Brandie Varner (Brian) of Mannford, OK, and son, Wesley Salazar (Heather) of Sand Springs, OK. Grandchildren: Dalton Farrow and wife Chelsey of Mannford, OK, Taylor Wayne Varner of Mannford, OK, Jaiden Lynn Salazar of Tulsa, OK and Jeht Wesley Salazar of Sand Springs OK. Siblings: Jerry Salazar (Mary) of Tucson, AZ, Suzie Dossett (Tony) of Evansville, IN, Sonjia Fout (JT) of Cecilia, KY, Anita MacMillan (Sean) of Salinas, CA, Renee Tietloff of South Bend, IN and numerous nieces and nephews. A very special event for the family will be the birth of Dalton and Chelsey's first child in August. This will be Chuck and LaBlenda's first great-grandchild. The family will not hold a gathering or service at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Care for Chuck Salazar has been entrusted to Dillon Funeral Service in Sand Springs, OK.
