Richard Randolph Sterling Obituary

Richard "Randy" Sterling, 77, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 at his home in Leo, IN. He was born in Marietta, OH to the late Vincent Sterling and Linda Smith. Randy worked as an electronics technician with D&L Communications, Williams Electronics, and Peter's Broadcasting. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion Post 409 of Leo. Randy was an amateur radio operator and an active supporter of the Boy Scouts of America. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a good friend to many. He is survived by his wife, Sybil Sterling of Leo, IN; children, Todd Jensen of Fort Wayne, Jennifer (Paul) Noll of Huntertown, IN, Jeff Jensen of Albany, NY, Vincent (Carmen) Sterling of Fort Wayne, Spencer (Julie) Sterling of Albion, IN; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Jeff Smith of Denver, CO; sister, Sheryl (Tony) Merkel of Carbondale, CO. Randy was preceded in death by his step-father, Lester Smith. Calling from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm, on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St.. Due to COVID-19, the family asks that guests pass through the calling keeping social distancing. A private family funeral will take place at a later date.
