Joaquim Maria De Oliveira, 93, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 17, 2021, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Murtosa, Portugal and came to the US in 1960 and resided in the Ironbound Section of Newark, NJ. Joaquim was a Laborer for Henkel & McCoy Construction and was a member of the Heavy and General Construction Laborers Local 472 of Newark for 25 years. Joaquim was a member of the Sport Maritimo Murtoense and the Club Cacadores, both of Newark. Husband of the late Maria Elisa Henriques De Oliveira; devoted and loving father of Manuel De Oliveira and his wife Maria Da Gloria, Joaquim De Oliveira and his wife Gloria and Amelia De Almeida; cherished grandfather of Michelle Peres and her husband Marco, Manuel and Matthew De Oliveira, Jon De Almeida, Derek De Almeida and his wife Anna and Tatiana Wallace and her husband Travis; great-grandfather of Gabriella, Eric, Emma, Mia, Jaden, Zander, Axel and Liam. The Funeral Mass for Joaquim will be offered on Thursday, January 21, 2021 Our Lady of Fatima Church, Newark at 9:45 am. Interment Arlington Cemetery, Kearny, NJ. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend. Arrangements are conducted by the Buyus Funeral Home, 426 Lafayette St., at Wilson Ave, Newark, NJ 07105.
