Wynantskill - Eugene E. Brady Jr., 89, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at St. Peter's Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Troy,  he was son of the late Eugene E. Brady Sr. and Dorothy Conroy Brady and husband for 66 years of Mary Ellen  Mooradian Brady. He was a lifelong resident of the Troy area and attended Troy School #18, was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the State University of New York at Albany in public administration. He also attended the Northwestern University Police Administration School in Chicago.

Eugene was a New York State Trooper for 24 years retiring as a Captain in1976. After his retirement, he began working as a security investigator for Niagara Mohawk and he also owned and operated a driving school. During retirement he started a Security Consultant Business where he would travel to US Parks to develop a security operating plan. He was also a North Greenbush Town Justice for 1 term in 1991. Eugene was a veteran of the United States Army.

For 20 years Eugene and Mary Ellen spent their winters at their  2nd home in Vero Beach, FL where he was often found playing golf or softball with the Vero Beach Codgers's. He was also a member of the Country Club of Troy.   

Survivors in addition to his wife, Mary Ellen, include his 3 children,  Mary Beth (William) Nolan, Sand Lake, 
Patrick (Erin) Brady, Clifton Park, Christopher (Ruth) Brady, Malta; his grandson, Shawn Brady; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Margaret Sutherland, Dorothy Zepf, and  JoAnne Carrier.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 from 4 - 7 PM. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church 310 Spring Avenue Troy on Thursday at 10am with Rev. John Yanas, Pastor, officiating. 

Face covering and social distancing are required both outside and inside during visitation and services.

Interment will be in  Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St Peter’s Hospital for their compassion and kindness.
