Carol Cosby Obituary

 

OZARK…Mrs. Carol Sconyers Cosby, a resident of Ozark, died early Monday morning, January 18, 2021 at her home. She was 82.

            Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Pansey, AL with Reverend Dr. Scott E. Thompson officiating. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

            Mrs. Cosby was a native of Cottondale, Florida and formerly lived in Ashford and Dothan areas before moving to Ozark in the 1960’s. She was formerly employed by the Ozark Housing Authority. Mrs. Cosby enjoyed playing bingo anywhere she could go. She was preceded in death by her husband, Euyell Lee Cosby; a son, Bobby Lee Cosby; mother and stepfather, Ida Mae Roberts Buchanan and Curtis Buchanan; a brother, Jefferson Sconyers; two sisters, Lucille Quattlebaum and Bonnie Jones.

            Surviving relatives include her daughter, Wanda Cosby, Ozark; two sons, Billy Cosby and Ricky Cosby (Jessica), all of Ozark; two brothers, James Sconyers (Lynda), Bessemer, AL  and Larry Sconyers, Calera, AL; five grandchildren, Kenneth Lee Meeks, Tracy Meeks, Brad Meeks, Cody Cosby and Katie Cosby; six great-grandchildren, William Dasinger, Chloe Draper, Stinson Draper, Ayden Meeks, Travis Meeks, and Madison Meeks.
