Ken Fitzpatrick

Ken Fitzpatrick, of Wellington, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at his home at the age of 68. He was born the son of Theron and Pauline (Stovall) Fitzpatrick on August 6, 1952 in Iola, Kansas. Ken was raised in Eastern Kansas and graduated from Yates Center High School. He went on to attend Allen County Community College and then graduated from Kansas State University. Following graduation, he began his lifelong career in agriculture. On August 29, 1975, Ken and Rhonda (Eagle) Fitzpatrick were united in marriage in Yates Center, Kansas. The couple then relocated to Wellington, Kansas two days later so Ken could start his new job at the Co-op. He enjoyed a 32-year career at the Wellington Co-op and retired in 2007. Following his time at the Co-op, Ken went to work delivering seed and chemical in Kansas and Northern Oklahoma for CPS and retired for good when his cancer diagnosis prevented him from working. Along with this work, Ken was also a farmer and stockman for much of his life. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Rhonda Fitzpatrick of the home; daughter, Heidi Theurer and husband Travis of Wellington, Kansas; son, Casey Fitzpatrick of Wellington, Kansas; daughter, Anna Cline of South Haven, Kansas; grandchildren Grace, Cole and Will Theurer all of Wellington, Kansas; Corbin and Carson Lucas; and Brittan Cline all of South Haven, Kansas; brother, Ed Fitzpatrick of Neosho Falls, Kansas; sister, Pat Mapes of Collinsville, Oklahoma; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Ula Eagle of Yates Center, Kansas along with extended family members and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theron and Pauline Fitzpatrick. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 20, 2021 with family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Please plan to wear a face mask when in attendance. Funeral services for Ken will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 21, 2021 in the chapel of Cornejo Funeral Home, Wellington, Kansas. Please plan to wear a face mask when in attendance. A graveside service for Ken will begin at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, January 21, 2021 at the Geneva Cemetery, Geneva, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be given in his name to Good Shepherd Hospice of Wellington or Friends for Life (Cancer Charity) of Yates Center, Kansas.
