William K. "Butch" Reed

Funeral service for Mr. William K. “Butch” Reed, age 76 of Hokes Bluff, will be 2 PM Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Chapel with Pastor Eddie Gooch officiating. Burial will follow the service in Union #3 Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until time of the service at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home & Cemetery. Mr. Reed passed away January 17, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles and Martha Reed; brothers: Randall and Bobby Reed; sister: Susan Sims. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 52 ½ years: Jackie Reed; daughter: Tammy (Doug) Robertson; sons: Chuck (Stacey) Jones and Paul (Kristi) Reed; chosen daughter: April Barnes; grandchildren: Morgan (Ryan) Miller, Corey Taurian) Hannah, Jessica Hannah (Beau Duke), Emily Jones (Corey Lacey), Chance Ford, Charley Jones, and Jacklyn Reed; chosen granddaughter: Keisha Chapman; great-grandchildren: Arlee Harbin, Taegan Hannah, Merrick Miller, Landry Lacey, and Tenley Hannah; sister: Carolyn Mobley; brothers: Ronald (Nancy) Reed, Joel (Gladys) Reed, Loyd Reed, and Timothy (Linda) Reed; host of nieces and nephews; a very special and close friend: Jim McDougal. Butch was a member of the Hokes Bluff 1st United Methodist Church. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era. He worked at Health Tex for a while and retired being a carpenter. He enjoyed hunting gardening, and wood working. Pallbearers will be Chance Ford, Doug Robertson, Charley Jones, Jordan Johnson, Wade Reed, and Ryan Miller. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hokes Bluff 1st United Methodist Church. Special thanks to Dr. Kaleem and his Nurse Practitioner: Jordan Teal, all the nurses and staff of the 4th floor SICU and the 8th floor CICU at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
