Rev. James C. Mack

Rev. James Curtis Mack, 63, of Greencastle, PA, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born February 10, 1957 in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Alan E. and Dorothy (Pate) Mack. He graduated from West Geauga High School in Chesterland, Ohio with the Class of 1976. In 1982, he graduated from Washington Bible College, Lanham, MD. He later earned his Master’s Degree in Pastoral Studies. He married the love of his life, Faith M. (Stone) Mack on June 6, 1981 in Chambersburg, PA. James had served as a full time missionary at Camp Joy El. He was a former Senior Pastor at Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church, Greencastle and was a Pastor of Visitation at Ebenezer United Brethren Church, Greencastle. For the past five years, he was employed by Person Directed Supports, Chambersburg. He had most recently been attending The Life Center in Greencastle. James was a man who made God the center of his life and was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. One look at his cell phone and you would find it full of the pictures of his grandchildren whom he adored! He was an avid fan of the Browns, the Indians and Ohio State. He also enjoyed playing the guitar. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children: Rachel M. Nowell and her husband, Justin of Greencastle, Sarah M. Smith and her husband, Chad of Chambersburg, and Jonathan C. Mack of Greencastle; six grandchildren: Madalyn G. Nowell, age 8, Isabella M. Nowell, age 6, Liam A. Smith, age 5, Abigail R. Nowell, age 4, Caleb J. Smith, age 2 and Autumn M. Smith, age 8 months. He is also survived by a brother, Dale E. Mack of Chesterland, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an older brother, Donald A. Mack and his twin brother, John F. Mack. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg, with Rev. Anthony Blair officiating. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 30, 2021 in The Life Center, 35 N. Carlisle St. Greencastle, PA, with Pastors David and Cathy Pence officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Joy El at joyelcamps.org. Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, Greencastle is handling the arrangements.
