John P. Ryan, died January 17, 2021 loving husband of the late Mary A. (Mimi) Ryan nee Scanlon; cherished father of William R. (Mary), Mary T. (Chris) Karges, Catherine M. (Tom) Quillin and Michael G. (Pamela); proud grandfather of Kevin, Lillian, Michael, Angela, Catherine, Molly, Will, Joseph, Jack, Declan and Sarah; brother of the late Ralph G. (Kay) Ryan and Mary Jean Burke (Richard) nee Ryan; brother-in-law of Dr. William A. (Lou) Scanlon. John was a lifelong learner. He graduated from Fenwick High School and Loyola University with both BS and MBA degrees. His long, successful career started at A.R. Barnes and continued for many years at Rand McNally. John built community everywhere. He and Mimi lived in Wilmette for many years while spending weekends and summers in Duneland Beach, Indiana. The last years of his life were spent at Westminster Place in Evanston, where his community continued to grow. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, the Funeral Mass will be by invitation only at Saints Joseph and Xavier Parish, Wilmette.
