Ronald P. Stortz of Freeport on January 16, 2021 due to rescue efforts at the Twin Towers. Retired Firefighter of Ladder 107, Engine 225, Battalion 39. Member Truck Company # 1, Freeport Fire Department. Beloved husband of Patricia. Loving father of Ryan P. Stortz, and Eric J. Stortz. Dear brother of Alex (Tania), Eleanor Dowd, and Elizabeth Sibley. Fond uncle to 4 nieces & 6 nephews. Fond great uncle to 1. Best friend of Raymond Rothfritz. Family will receive friends on Wednesday January 20th from 4:00 - 7:00PM. Firematic Service Wednesday 6:30PM. Cremation Private. In lieu of flowers contributions to The UFA Widows & Children Fund 204 East 23rd Street New York, NY 10010 or The Ray Pfeifer Foundation, 827 Route 82 – Suite 10210, Hopewell Junction, N 12533 (914) 469-6247 During this unprecedented time, and in compliance with guidelines stipulated by the Centers for Disease Control and the NYS Department of Health, we are forced to limit attendance at visitations, memorials, and funeral services to 50 people or less. Our staff may ask mourners to wait outside the chapel, outside the funeral home, or to keep their visit brief so as to allow others an opportunity to mourn. While in the funeral home, we are requesting all visitors to wear a mask and to limit physical contact such has hugging, handshaking, or contact with the face.
