Bernice made her heavenly transition on Friday, January 15,2021. </strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:20px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;"><strong>Bernice accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Reverend Jesse Henderson at New Morning Star Baptist Church. Bernice remained a member of New Morning Star Baptist Church until she transitioned.</strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:20px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;"><strong>Bernice was educated in the Madison Parish school system and was a graduate of Reuben McCall High School. She attended and graduated from Hinds Junior College and Robinson Business School..</strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:20px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;"><strong>Bernice had a love for reading, a thirst for knowledge and she loved trying new recipes.</strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:20px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;"><strong>Bernice was a nurturer, a surrogate mother to her younger siblings, a loving, kind and compassionate sister, aunt and friend.</strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:20px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;"><strong>She leaves to cherish her memories four brothers and five sisters: Darnell Riggs, Las Vegas, Nev., Lottie R. Webb, Mitchell A. Riggs (Glory), Erma R. Lindsey,Tallulah, La.&nbsp; Deloris R. Oates, Los Angeles, Ca. Alma R. Thomas (Lawrence), Baton Rouge,La., Douglas R. Riggs (Corean), Mable R. Chandler (Kenneth), Tallulah,La., Reverend Rory R.Riggs (Nancy), Los Angeles,Ca., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.</strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:20px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;"><strong>Bernice was preceded in death by Roosevelt Riggs ( infant brother), parents Maude and Peter Riggs.</strong></span></span></p>

Bernice was the fourth child born to Maude and Peter Riggs on April 3,1941 in Tallulah, Louisiana. Bernice made her heavenly transition on Friday, January 15,2021.

Bernice accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Reverend Jesse Henderson at New Morning Star Baptist Church. Bernice remained a member of New Morning Star Baptist Church until she transitioned.
