<p><span style="font-size:22px;">Wilma Marline (Powell) Gleason was born December 22, 1931 to Ed and Millie (Weaver) Powell in Cheyenne County Kansas.&nbsp; She departed this life on January 16, 2021 at Via Christi Village, Hays, Kansas.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:22px;">Wilma grew up on the family farm southwest of Bird City. She was the youngest born of seven children.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:22px;">On August 20, 1950 she was united in marriage to Clyde Gleason.&nbsp; The two of them lived and worked on the Gleason family farm where they raised their two daughters, Sandy and Shona. Wilma was a stay-at-home mom where she helped to raise their 2 girls, but also helped with daily activities of living on a farm.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:22px;">Wilma&rsquo;s hobbies were working in her yard and her flower beds. She also enjoyed doing ceramics, working jigsaw puzzles and doing embroidery projects. She and Clyde also enjoyed doing woodworking projects together. He did the designing and building, and she would sand and paint or varnish them when he was done.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:22px;">Wilma is preceded in death by her husband Clyde, a grandson, Wade Lee, and her parents Ed and Millie Powell, brothers Elmer, Delbert, Ronald, and sisters Zava, Zella and Darlene. She leaves to mourn, her daughter Sandy Kuhn and husband Marvin, of Hays, Kansas and daughter, Shona Gleason and partner Connie Kaber of Saint Louis, Missouri, her grandson Wayne Lee of Omaha, Nebraska and great grandchildren Jacob and Olivia, a sister-in-law Marvel Gleason and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:22px;">Plans for a memorial service are pending due to Covid.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:22px;">Memorials may be made to Via Christi Village of Hays, or to HaysMed Hospice.
