Marian F. Bendon

Marian F. Bendon (Simons) Age 80, of Omaha, NE passed away on January 15, 2021 surrounded by her family. Marian was born on March 3, 1940 in Fort Dodge, IA to the late Aloysius and Louise Simons. Marian is survived by her beloved husband Glenn, children Patricia (Brian) Willms, Kristine (Ken) Nielsen, Karen (Paul) Teetor, Kimberly McMillan, Robert (Monica) Bendon, twin sister Margie (Larry) Kampa, Tom (Arlene) Simons, Diana Morgan, John Simons, 9 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, dear friends and relatives. Marian graduated from Corpus Christi Catholic High School in Fort Dodge. She moved to Omaha after high school with her best friend Sarah Rabb and sister Margie. Marian and Glenn, married 54 years, met in 1965 at a LaSalle Club softball game, and were married in 1966 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. A devoted Catholic, Marian was a member of the St. Joan of Arc Parish for over 50 years and participated in perpetual adoration for more than 30 years while also volunteering for school lunch and funeral committees. She worked in bookkeeping for Sears & Roebuck and then for Corporate Express where she retired in 2003. Marian enjoyed playing cards with her bridge club. She also enjoyed summer vacations in Minnesota fishing when the children were younger and in South Dakota where they owned a place later in life. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 19th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. at Braman Mortuary, located at 1702 N 72nd St. in Omaha. Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 20th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church located at 7430 Hascall Street, Omaha, NE 68124. Interment: Calvary Cemetery Flowers can be sent to Braman Mortuary located at 1702 N 72nd Street in Omaha.
