John Joseph Ballantine, 82, of West Simsbury, husband of the late Carmen (Ortiz) Ballantine, passed Saturday January 9, 2021 at home surrounded by family. He was born and raised in Brooklyn NY, son of the late John Ballantine and the late Rose (Mccafferty) Ballantine. Brother to the late Thomas Ballantine. He is survived by his children, Denise Good, John Ballantine, and Kathleen Poulin and 6 grandchildren. John spent his life keeping busy with family and his passions in life. He had an Aeronautical Engineering degree, which he earned after serving in the US Army. He worked for the airlines until retiring. The airlines opened the world to him. He loved to travel, on big game hunts or just to visit different cultures. Services are private at this time.
