Aurora D. Bibona

Aurora Amelia Alba Dolores Soriano Bibona. The unassuming Italian matriarch. The definition of a woman. The epitome of feminine. A legend. Daughter, sister, sweetheart, wife, friend, Mom, Nana. Every role was lived to the fullest, with the most love, generosity and joy. The child of Ellis Island Immigrants, Anthony and Mary Soriano, Aurora was the youngest of 7 children. She spent her childhood in Newark, NJ. and graduated from Barringer High School. She waited for her sweetheart Frank T. Bibona through WWII and married him upon his return. They remained together for almost 70 years, until Frank’s death. She was a charter member of Sigma Delta Rho Sorority, active member of the Lyndhurst Friendship Club, AARP club, and The Kearny Harmony Club. Aurora was also predeceased by her siblings: Thomas Soriano, Frank Soriano, Josephine Aromando, Rose Pallante, Edith Picciano and Helen McDonough. She is survived by her loving children and their spouses: Salvatore Bibona (Kathy), Janice Goberman (Eric), Debbie Murray(John); Adoring Grandchildren David Bibona(Emily), Karen Starc( Friko), Kevin Bibona (Jeane), Nicole Zaragoza (Will), Ryan Murray (Katie), Craig Murray(Kacey), Rebecca Whitesell (Bridger) and her great-grandchildren — Olivia, Laszlo, Luca, Benjamin, Davis, Blix, Mila, Collins, Charles and Henry. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst at 10:30 AM. Covid safety protocols including wearing masks and appropriate spacing are in effect. Entombment at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington will be private for immediate family only. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America, P.O. Box 758589, Topeka, KS 66675. Arrangements are under the direction of Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ.
