Charles L. Hayden

Charles L. Hayden, 79, Pittsville, passed away on January 16, 2021 at Three Oaks Health Services. No services will be held at this time due to COVID-19 virus restrictions. Charles was born on July 28, 1941 in Black River Falls to Louis and Ione (Hauge) Hayden. He attended Merrillan Elementary School, Lincoln High School in Alma Center, and Chippewa Valley Technical College. He was united in marriage to Diane Bryner on March 21, 1960 in Merrillan. Charles worked at Hayden’s IGA in Merrillan. He then became a patrol officer and later sheriff for the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department. Later, he owned and operated Charley’s Pinecrest Supper Club in Pittsville. Charles enjoyed all sports, especially football. He is survived by his wife, Diane, sons, L. John (Peg) Hayden of Alma Center, Thomas K. (Wendy) Hayden of St. Anthony, MN, and Corey A. Hayden of Pittsville, grandchildren, Casey (Jenelle) Hayden, Lyndsi Hayden, Cole Hayden, Erik Hayden, Zachary Hayden, and Taylor Hayden, and great grandchildren, Jackson, Vivienne, and Jadence Hayden. He is further survived by his brothers, Tom (Linda) Hayden of Two Dot, MT and Dave Hayden of Jefferson, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents and son in infancy, Charles L. Hayden, Jr. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Heartland Hospice and Three Oaks Health Service for their excellent care.
