Mrs. Vinnie Lee Geter, 86, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 at her residence. Born February 23, 1934 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late McKinley Norris, Sr. and Nora Turner Norris. Educated in the public schools of South Carolina, she was last employed as a cabinet maker with Henry Link Furniture Company. As a member of New Hope AME Zion Church, she served as a Deaconess, Usher, Life Members Council and the Missionary Society. Mrs. Geter was also a member of the Red Hatters Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Geter; brother, McKinley Norris, Jr. , and great -granddaughter, Synia Geter. Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Mary Robinson and Deborah Neely of the home, James "Bo" Geter of Charlotte, and Ted Geter of Salisbury; sisters, Betty Jean Sawyer of New York, and Frances Skinner(Lyle) of Virginia; ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
