Peacefully at the Cornwall Community Hospital on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. Ewen Robert Kennedy formerly of Apple Hill; age 84 years. Beloved husband of Colleen Kennedy (née O’Farrell). Loving father of Shannon McDougald (Steve) and Karen Moran. Cherished grandfather of Kathleen and Meaghan McDougald, and Jennifer and Liam Moran. Dear brother of Hubert Kennedy (Nadia), and Sheila McDonell (Glen). Predeceased by his parents Donald E. and Jean Kennedy (née McDonell). Ewen was born on the Kennedy family farm where he spent many years of his life dairy farming before moving to Bainsville with his wife Colleen to establish Kennedy Redwood Estates. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, caring father and a proud grandfather. He enjoyed Celtic culture, curling, golfing and boating on the St. Lawrence River. The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at Lancaster Long Term Care Residence for their many acts of kindness and compassion. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main Street South, Alexandria, ON (613-525-2772). Due to Covid-19 Restrictions, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Raphael’s Parish later. Interment will follow in St. Raphael’s Parish Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to Parkinson Canada and to the Friends of the Ruins- St. Raphael’s Ruins would be appreciated by the family. As a memorial to Ewen a tree will be planted in Memory Woods.
