Mr. Joseph F. Kachocki, 91 years of Salem and formerly of Lynn, died Thursday, January 14, 2021 in his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Philomena (Lavorante) Kachocki. He was born in Lynn, the son of the late Anthony and Pauline (Lepa) Kachocki. He was raised in Lynn and lived in Lynn most of his life. He also lived in Nahant, Saugus and the past 2 years in Salem. .Joe was a Veteran of the Marine Corps and the Air Force. He served in Germany and California. He served in the Air Force from 1951 to 1955 and received the Occupation of Germany Medal.  Joe was a Lynn Police Officer from 1960 until his retirement in 1991. After his retirement he became a driver for GLSS for 4 yearsHe enjoyed helping people. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, boating, riding his motorcycle and flying planes.  At the age of 72 when everyone was trying to get him to go to Senior Citizen Centers, he was getting his pilot’s license. He flew until he was 89. He enjoyed casinos and the casino boats. Most important he was a loving and devoted, Husband, Father, Grandfather and friend.He is survived by his daughters, Angela Kachocki of Salem, Pauline Gordon and her husband Terry of Salem, Ann Marie Pastorello and her husband Stephen of Lynn, his grandchildren, Joseph Kachocki of Lynn, Stephen and Sydney Pastorello of Lynn, his sisters Ruth Clarke of New Hampshire, and Wanda Christopher of West Virginia, his brothers and sisters in law, John and Carolyn Lavorante of Lynnfield and Daniel and Gilda Lavorante of Florida. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was the 14 year companion of the late Lea Lewis, and the brother of the late Ted Kachocki, John Kent, Fred Kachocki, Kay Mahoney, Felicia Gould, Mildred Reynolds and Helen Campbell. His funeral and burial will be private on Tuesday January 19, 2021 from the Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway Lynn.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to All Care VNA and Hospice, 210 Market Street, Lynn, Massachusetts 01901
