Jeffrey B. Guiou Obituary

JEFFREY B. GUIOU PRESQUE ISLE & FORT FAIRFIELD Presque Isle & Fort Fairfield – Jeffrey B. Guiou, 59, passed away Tuesday evening, January 12, 2021 at the Aroostook House of Comfort, Presque Isle, following an extended illness. He was born December 26, 1961 in Fort Fairfield, the son of Paul J. and Sue C. (Stover) Guiou. He was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1980 and received a bachelor’s degree in business economics from the University of Maine at Orono. While residing in Massachusetts, Jeffrey worked in sales at Clay Chevrolet, Watertown, MA. Upon returning to Maine, Jeffrey became employed at Harry’s Motorsports, Presque Isle. Jeff loved fun and anticipation. So much so, he was usually already living tomorrow when we were still in today. This was a characteristic readily apparent since his youth when mischief seemed to follow him, even into adulthood. Rekindling memories of his predicaments were fodder for laughter, especially from Jeff. He was truly a people-person and was most happy with his family and friends. Jeff had passion and grit and was undaunted by life’s challenges. His grin and humor will always be remembered. He was a warm-hearted and generous person who always gave of himself and shared what he had. He believed in the simple joys of life. We will miss him dearly. Jeffrey was predeceased by his father, Paul J. Guiou. He is survived by his mother, Sue C. Guiou of Presque Isle; two children, Breton and Julia; one brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Narda Guiou of Fort Fairfield; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Dan Provencher of Standish, Leslie and Kenneth Rideout of Littleton, MA; one aunt, Joan DeRue of Sarasota, FL; several nieces and nephews. The Guoiu family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors and staff of both Northern Light A. R. Gould Hospital and the Aroostook House of Comfort for the wonderful care given to Jeffrey during his stays. Native American belief: “Death is not a failure. The dead have completed their responsibilities. The living still have their obligations to complete.” A graveside service will be conducted during the summer at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield, at a date and time to be announced by the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Guiou to the Aroostook House of Comfort, P.O. Box 867, Presque Isle, Maine 04769.
