Martha Weber Obituary

Martha Weber, 94, of Osceola, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021, peacefully in her sleep.

Martha was born March 2, 1926 in Mishawaka to the late Azar and Anna Kalil. On September 30, 1948 she married Keith R. Weber in St. Monica Church in Mishawaka and they were married 47 years before he preceded her in death on August 16, 1995. Also preceding her in death were 4 of their 5 children, Kenny, Janet and David Weber and Christina Goodman; brothers, George, Charlie and Tony Kalil; sisters, Mary Allison and Maggie Kalil; granddaughter, Stacey Blasko; and a daughter-in-law, Elaine Weber.

Martha is survived by a son, Thomas (Theresa) Weber of Mishawaka; son-in-law, Kenny Goodman; daughter-in-law, Sharon Weber; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.

Martha grew up in Mishawaka, attending St. Monica Grade School and Mishawaka High School. After getting married she moved to Osceola where she and her husband lived and raised their children. Martha was a founding member of her beloved Queen of Peace Catholic Church where she was active in the Rosary Society and many other groups. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, gardening, playing cards, and cooking and especially her Christmas Cookies and Lebanese recipes that were passed down from her mother. She was a very generous person, notorious for sharing her homemade food with others. As Father Dan would say “Martha is spicy, like her homemade salsa!”

Martha lived her last few years at St. Paul’s where she enjoyed socializing, eating meals and playing bingo with other residents. Her family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to all the nurses and aides, especially Rachel and Patty, who cared for Martha and were so loving to her; you were a blessing to her and to her family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Wednesday, January 20, in Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4508 Vistula Road, Mishawaka. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawka.

Visitation will be from 10 – 11 am Wednesday in church.

Memorials are suggested to Queen of Peace Church.

Arrangements are under the care of Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, Mishawaka.
