Gordon "Smitty" Allen Smith, 77, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Thursday, January 14th, 2021. Smitty was born in Colby, Kansas on July 25, 1943, a son of the late Lela Leila (Davis) and Darrell James Smith. He was a Railroad Signal Maintainer for several companies including Rock Island and Union Pacific. He retired in 1998 after 30 years. On August 11, 1984, Gordon married Donna Nickell in Greensburg, Kansas. Survivors include his wife, Donna; two sons, James Smith, of Denver, Colorado, Jeff Smith, of Mesa, Arizona; daughter, Tamara Wheeler, (Terry) of Salina, Kansas; brother, Denny Smith, (Fran) of Ulysses, Kansas. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Megan Fowler (Chris), Miranda Rothweiler (Jacob); and great grandchildren, Adisyn Fowler, Jaxon Fowler. He was preceded in death by his son, Darren Cart. Cremation was chosen and services will be announced at a later date. Donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, sent in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio, Salina, Kansas 67401.
