BETTY BELLE KRIVANEC Obituary

Betty Belle (Dieleman) Krivanec, 86, of Douglas, Wyoming, passed away with family by her side after a short bout with cancer on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at the Memorial Hospital of Converse County in Douglas.

She was born on Sunday, May 6, 1934, in Lost Springs, Wyoming, to the late Daniel Wayne and Cora Elizabeth (Bright) Dieleman.  Betty had one beloved sister, Vivian Fern Ladwig, also of Douglas.

Betty was a 1952 high school graduated of Manville, Wyoming.  After Betty graduated from Nebraska State Teachers College in Chadron, Nebraska, she taught school in Glendo, Wyoming.  On December 19, 1954, she married the love of her life, Clyde Krivanec, at the United Methodist Church in Douglas. Together they raised three wonderful children, Clyde Wayne, Jeffrey Lewis, and Connie Jo.  Betty was a superb homemaker and had several fun careers, throughout life her favorite occupation was as Douglas City Clerk for 15 years.  After retiring she and Clyde traveled back and forth from Apache Junction, Arizona, living in Glendo and Upton and finally back to Douglas for their later years. After Clyde passed on February 14,2014, Betty stayed at their home until this past summer when she moved to the Riverside Senior Plaza where she connected with new and old friends.  She thought it was like being back in a college dorm. Betty absolutely loved her family above all else but loved her time camping and fishing, she enjoyed gardening, baking, doing puzzles, and sitting on her porch in the sun watching her birds.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jeff Krivanec at the age of 52 on June 3, 2011; her husband Clyde of 59 years; parents, Dan on November 19, 1990 and Cora on April 13, 2000; and nephew, Stan.

She is survived by her eldest son, Clyde (Marie) Krivanec of Pine Haven, Wyoming; daughter, Connie Jo Bolinger of Douglas, Wyoming; grandchildren Gary Wayne Bolinger and fiancé Emma Raymond, Jill Fay (Matt Szumada), Jamie (Jeremiah) Hinds, Erin (Brad) Vail, Tyler (Elizabeth) Branson, Nicole (Bubba) Porter, Jaelene (Larry) Ritterhouse, Jason (Rachel) Materi, and Crystal Materi; her much loved great grandchildren, nephews, great nieces, and nephews; and all of her special friends that were family to her.

Betty’s services will be held at the Douglas Senior Center on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with Ron Lambert as the eulogist. Betty will be laid to rest at the Douglas Park Cemetery in May with her beloved husband and son during a private family ceremony.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Douglas Senior Center, P.O. Box 192, Douglas, Wyoming 82633.
