Guadalupe Mata

Guadalupe Mata, our beloved Pete, was born on May 21, 1966 in Brownsville, TX. He was one of 7 children. On February 19, 1986 he married his loving wife Patricia. They were married for 35 blessed years and had 4 wonderful sons; Paul, Peter, Michael and Jacob. He found his love for baseball while he was at a very young age and continued the love and passion for the sport through his sons. He taught them how to be the hardest workers in the room and to never give up on their goals and dreams. Pete was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He developed a genuine friendship with everyone he encountered and had the gift of making everyone feel like family. Pete was proceeded in death by his mother, Margarita. He is survived by his father Rogelio, his loving wife Patricia, his four children, Paul, Peter, Michael, and Anthony and Daughter-in-law Cassy and Karina, his grandsons Jacob, Derek, Aaron, Anthony, Aiden, and Angel and granddaughter Emma, his brothers Rogelio Jr and Augusto, and his sisters Juanita, Margret, Libby and Patricia. He was loved by many and will never be forgotten. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” Family Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, January 17th from 2-4 P.M. at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home Chapel. Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for 11 A.M. on Monday, January 18 at The Ellis County Cowboy Church.
