<p>Carolyn Robinson, 84, of Pine Bluff, died Thursday, January 14, 2021. </p><p><br></p><p> She was born August 6, 1936 in Cornerstone. Carolyn grew up at Cornerstone and graduated from Altheimer High School. She was the fourth youngest daughter of five siblings born to the late Carl W. and Josie McPeak Fox from Cornerstone and Pine Bluff.</p><p><br></p><p> Carolyn was of the Quaker Faith, a member of the Friends Church of DeWitt, founded and pastored by her paternal grandfather, the late Frank C. Fox. </p><p><br></p><p> Mrs. Robinson was employed at Arkansas Oak Flooring of Pine Bluff from 1961-1975.</p><p><br></p><p> She was elected to serve on the Pine Bluff City Council in 1978, the first woman to hold that position. Carolyn held the position of alderwoman until she was elected Mayor in 1984. She retired in December of 1992 after serving two four-year terms as Mayor. </p><p><br></p><p> Mrs. Robinson had a love for reading and a recreational love of all sports, especially the Arkansas Razorbacks and New York Yankees. However, her true passion was for her family, giving her time and support anytime needed. She will be missed.</p><p><br></p><p> Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Imogene Willis Powell and Joan Hutchins; and brother, Don C. Fox.</p><p><br></p><p> Survivors include her beloved husband and best friend, Fred C. Robinson, whom she married February 12, 1960 in Sherrill; her loving and dedicated children, Renee Harrell of Hot Springs, Tina Dunlap (David) of Sherwood and Robbie Robinson (Toni) of White Hall; sister, Frances Ferguson (Harold) of Sulphur Springs; three precious grandchildren, Brooke Dunlap of Dallas, Texas, Tyler Robinson of White Hall and Loren Robinson of Conway; three great-grandchildren, Gabe Blevins, Ava Mittermeier and Avery Robinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>Mrs. Robinson will be in state Friday evening from 4-6 p.m. at Robinson’s.
