Charles Lionel King

<p>Charles Lionel King, 93, of Conneaut Lake, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>He was born June 5, 1927 in Bellevue, a son of Charles E. and Marie H. Stoltenburg King.&nbsp; He married Catherine E. Junk September 15, 1950 and she preceded him in death September 7, 2014.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Charles was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater of Operations from 1945 to 1946.&nbsp; He was a 1948 graduate of Fredonia High School, Fredonia, PA.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Charlie worked at Talon Plant 7 as a machinist and trainer for 32 years, retiring in 1983.&nbsp; He also farmed, drove school bus and following retirement from Talon he then drove truck.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Charlie was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Conneaut Lake.&nbsp; He was a life member of Linesville VFW Post 7842 where he was the former Quarter Master and founding member of Conneaut Lake VFD Station 3.&nbsp; He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and gardening.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Survivors include five children, Cathy King (Carson Hall) of Meadville, Nancy King of Lander, WY, Timothy King of Lander, WY, Renee Hinderliter (Raymond Roiz) of Meadville, and Col. Mary Ann King of Henderson, NV; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Nardone, Mark Miller, Jeffery Waechter, Melissa Waechter Williams (Simon), Grant Hinderliter, Jillian Hinderliter (Travis Bland), Logan Hinderliter (Hannah Parzen), and Sara King; two great-grandchildren, Jacob Nardone and Taylor Kaikowski; a sister, Norma Wilcox (Ed) of Fredonia; a brother, John King (Ann) of Fredonia; and several nieces and nephews.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Major Michele Waechter and a granddaughter, Ruth Ann Hinderliter.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, January 20th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at WAID-COLEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 12422 CONNEAUT LAKE RD., CONNEAUT LAKE where a memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Sam Heagy officiating.&nbsp; The wearing of masks is required.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by VFW Post 2006.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Memorials may be made to Linesville VFW Post 7842, 6913 Gehrton Rd., Linesville, PA 16424, Conneaut Lake VFD, 11877 Conneaut Lake Rd., Conneaut Lake, PA 16316 or Hospice of Crawford County, 766 Liberty St., Meadville, PA 16335.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Memories and condolences may be shared at www.waidcolemanfh.com.</p>
