A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard for Clifford Jimmy Matte, 72, who passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at 10:00 P.M. at Acadia General Hospital in Crowley. Fr. Wayne Duet, Pastor of St. Edwards Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in the St. Edwards Catholic Church Cemetery in Richard. The family has requested the visitation to be held on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at 5:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 6 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. Visitation will resume on Monday at 8:00 A.M. until time of services. Survivors include two grandsons, Seth James Matte and Trey Joseph Matte both of Richard; one great-granddaughter, Makenli Grayce Matte of Richard; daughter-in-law, Jamie Matte of Abbeville; three brothers, Gary and wife, Laura Matte of Rayne, Michael and wife, Brenda Matte of Church Point, Wayne and wife, Florence Matte of Welsh; three sisters, Dorothy and husband, Jessie Bergeron of Houma, Marie and husband, Dewey Mire of Lawtell, Sandra Matte of Rayne; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Matte was preceded in death by his wife, Mary C. Matte; his son, Scotty Matte; his parents, Elzia and Aline Matte; one brother, Glenn K. Matte.
