Duane Hoerle

Graveside Services for Duane Hoerle, age 66, of Chambers, NE will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Conley Cemetery, rural Chambers, NE. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 am at Biglin’s Mortuary in O’Neill. Duane passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at Arbor Care Center in O’Neill. Biglin’s Mortuary in O’Neill is in charge of arrangements. Duane Edwin Hoerle was born in O’Neill, Nebraska on April 26, 1954 to Edwin and Frances (Cady) Hoerle. Duane was born with down syndrome. He grew up southeast of Chambers near Hoerle’s Corner. In his early years, Duane enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved going out and helping his dad check cattle on the tractor. Duane was a member of the Northstar family for 35 years. Thirty of those years were spent as part of the Deb and Joe Bazelman family, and five years with Christi Coventry and her family. The last ten years he was taken care of during the week by Angie Allen, Andria Eiler, and Cammie Cuhel. He was also a life-long member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Chambers. Duane loved to be around people and his Northstar family. He enjoyed going to dances, listening to music, watching western movies, cruise nights, and watching the Huskers. Duane rarely met someone that he didn’t call his friend and will be missed dearly by all those that knew and loved him. Duane is survived by his sister, Barb Petersen and special friend Rod Schimmer of Lincoln, NE; three nephews, Brian (Cristal) Petersen of Lincoln, NE, and their children Max and Britney, Troy Petersen of Rural Ewing, NE, Kevin (Nicole) Petersen of Lincoln, NE and their children Sam and Will; and many other relatives and friends. Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Frances (Cady) Hoerle; sister, Kathy Zegers; brother- in- law, Mike Petersen.
