Gertrude "Trudy" Draeger Obituary

Gertrude “Trudy” Draeger (Nee Hallingstad) went home to her eternal rest in Jesus on January 12, 2021 at age 94. Loving wife of 50 years to Paul, who preceded her in death. Also preceded in death by parents Chester and Edna as well as brothers Verdell “Pidge” and Wayne. She is survived by brother Roger. She was the loving mother to Randy (Silvia) Draeger, Cheryl Draeger, Lisa (Kurt) Stofflet. Loving grandma to Sandra, Randy Jr. (Theresa), Derek, David (Lisa), Jessica, Jake (Sara), Jamie & Abby. Special GG to Lauren, Emily, Kaylee, Alex, Adelina, Paysen & Liana. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Trudy grew up in Sparta, WI. where she met Paul, while he worked at Camp McCoy and lived down the street from her. Following their marriage they moved to Milwaukee where Trudy joyfully devoted her life to raising her children. A part-time employee of First Wisconsin Bank, she loved to read, do crossword puzzles, play Cribbage, Scrabble and watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Proud of her Norweigan heritage, she was a long-time member of the Sons of Norway. Trudy was a long-time member of Sherman Park Lutheran Church, becoming a member of the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church family in 2018. Her love for the Lord was apparent throughout her life. She prayed daily for her beloved family. Special thanks to the loving caregivers of Cecelia Place and Legacy Hospice for the wonderful care she received. If desired, memorials to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church are appreciated. Services and burial will be private.
