Dorothy Wright

Dorothy Wright, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2016 at her home. Age 72 years. She was born April 30, 1943 in Anguilla, Mississippi to Pollard and Helen Price. Dorothy attended Saginaw Public Schools and proudly completed her education by receiving her GED. She married Martin Wright who predeceased her in 2007. She worked at the Parts Plant in Saginaw, and then transferred to the VA Flint Engine Plant where she retired. Dorothy accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of United Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Dale Tatum. She loved reading her Bible, novels, magazines, talking politics, and traveling. She loved President Obama! She was so soft-spoken, God-fearing, an amazingly virtuous woman who never complained. She loved God and fought her battles faithfully. She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Tina Wright; one stepdaughter, Kim Wright; two sons, William Wright, Martin Wright; one stepson, Terry (Lisa) Wright; fifteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, James (Doris) Price, Artie (Shirlyn) Price, Bertha (Leon) Payne, Barbara (Melvin) Conner, Bonnie Price, Sherry (Roy) Gear, Helen (James) Murdock; stepsister, Rosemary Sanders; sisters-in-law, Pearl Wright, Barbara Price, Leottra Price, Willie Bee Williams; brothers-in-law, Johnny Wright, Lester Wright; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Wright; a large family of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends including special friends, Carolyn Redeemer, Celestine Buckley, and Janice Coleman. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Pollard and Helen Price, husband, Martin Wright, one son, Delano Wright, three daughters, Kim, Dorothea and Marilyn Wright, two grandsons, Marquist Hunt, Torion Kelly, great-grandson, Johnna Wright; four brothers, L.C. Williams, Alonzo, Pollard, and Earl Price, and one sister, Helen Price. The family would like to express special thanks to the Covenant Hospital staff, Pastor Dale Tatum and the United Missionary Baptist Church family, Pastor Taurus Simpson and the Daniels Den family, Pastor Lafayette Simpson and the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church family, and Pastor Ernest Reed and the Greater Solid Rock Church family.
