Private Family Mass will be held 1 p.m., Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church. Public Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m., until noon at the North Kossuth Golf Club in Bancroft

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to one of Mom’s many interests.

Patricia (Pat) Bernhard, daughter of William and Helen (Butterfield) Doocy, was born on February 26, 1941, in rural Swea City. Pat passed peacefully on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 79.

Pat is a life-long member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Bancroft and she received her education from St. John's Catholic School, graduating in 1959.

On June 25, 1959, she was united in marriage with Philip Bernhard at St. John's Catholic Church in Bancroft. Pat and Phil farmed west of town on the Bernhard family farm. Pat started her career in the mid-1980s working at and then managing the North Kossuth Golf Club for 26 years.

Pat was very active in her church and community. She is one of the founders of Club, the Bancroft Rotary, the Bancroft Health Club and the St. John’s Food Pantry. She was a leader of the Blue & White 4-H Club, a cake decorator, a lector, a potato salad maker, volunteer at the nursing home and at the blood mobile, and President of the St. John’s Altar Society. My sympathies to the entire family!
