Dianne fought mighty and brave, always pushing more than expected. She went through many painful and drastic surgeries and treatments, without complaining. She even spent an entire summer getting daily radiation treatments at the University of Iowa City Hospitals. Her family gathered to watch her ring "The Bell" when she finished her final treatment there. All her extra effort gave her extra time to be with her family but all the while, she never was free of cancer. During all her heroic battles with cancer, she was focused on the positive and was very grateful for the gift to "live" and be with the people that she loved the most. She never complained or allowed anyone to help her. Most of the time, it was impossible to tell that she even had cancer, unless you knew because she was so strong.

Her sole reason for fighting cancer over and above her means, was to be with her family. Nothing in her life was more important to her than her family. She lived to be a wife, mommy, grandma, and great grandma. Her husband Gary and her rarely, spent time apart after they married on April 17, 1971; they share a true love story so rare and special straight out of a fairy tale. The loss of their son Zachary "Jack" Sieverding in 2016 and their granddaughter and goddaughter, Savannah "Sanny" Steines in 2015, devastated them, but they continued to include both Jack and Sanny in their daily life.

Together they were blessed with seven children, Susan Sieverding, Kimberley (Troy) Steines, Jodi Sieverding, John (Tracy) Sieverding, Heidi (Adam Ploessl) Sieverding, Zachary Sieverding and Ashley Sieverding. She had 13 grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Alexander, Benjamin, Andrew, Savannah, Blake, Kyle, Carter, Caleigh, Thomas, Lincoln and Scarlett as well as 5 great grandchildren, Shayde, Sylas, Soaryn, Sawyer and Maci. She filled her entire home with children's artwork, homemade items, photos and gifts from her children and grandchildren as well as toys and books. When she ran out of room to display photos and artwork, she used her kitchen cabinets.

Dianne’s pets were also children to her. She had many birds, cats, dogs, rats, hedgehogs, guinea pigs, lizards, fish and iguanas. All were incredibly special to her and yes, she had her favorites, but her cat Graceland "Gracie", was her most treasured pet. Dianne was an animal lover, who always wanted to live on a farm and "have lots of animals". If asked, her favorite animal was Birds. Cardinals in particular were her most favorite. Dianne grew many plants in her home and always had a vegetable garden, made up mostly of tomato plants.

Dianne was famously known for always rocking in her rocking chair. She rarely sat in any other type of chair. Every single baby or child that entered her home, was rocked by her in one of her rocking chairs. She grew up in a musical family and would sing and play instruments but her favorite way to use her talent, was to sing lullaby to "the kids" while rocking them in her rocking chair.

Her need to be there for others was the big part of the wonderful woman that she was. She wrote many letters to people in need, mentored and fostered children. Dianne was a person that strangers and acquaintances quickly bonded to. She enjoyed children so much. She was one of the most kind, generous and compassionate people, to exist in our life.

Covid-19 brought fear and a health threat to Dianne because of her terminal cancer. The pandemic took away so much time that she could have spent with her family. After she became frailer, she could not see some of her family without masks, behind closed doors or through video chat. Dianne missed out on the holidays and many events that she wanted to spend with her family. When she started to need to be hospitalized, she was completely removed from her family. This was devastating to her and her family, who wanted and needed to see her. Sadly, she did not get to say "Goodbye" to many of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She will be remembered as the most loving, giving, accepting mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was such an irreplaceable, special, and incredible woman with an enormous heart full of love. She will be missed way too much by her family and those that loved her. Words cannot describe the deep heartbreak felt by her family in losing her.

Dianne enjoyed traveling to Disneyworld and Branson annually. When her children were younger, she enjoyed camping, going on trips to amusement parks and anywhere else that allowed her to be with her family. She cherished the long drives with "the kids" because it gave her extra time with them. Staying in hotels and taking the children swimming was a past time that she enjoyed. There are never ending stories of her vacations and trips with her children and grandchildren. Taking "the kids" anywhere was Heaven to her.

She kept an entire room, in addition to the rest of the house, full of toys so that her grandchildren and great grandchildren could come and play. Overflowing the couch with play and toys was very much enjoyed by her.
