Mary R. Thompson, 72, of Stewartville,Mn,  died suddenly oo Tuesday (January 12,  2021) of an apparent cardiac arrest at her home.

Mary Renee Bolander  was born on September 30, 1948 in Kasson,MN to Neil and  Marvis( Green) Bolander. She grew up in Mantorville, attended Kasson Mantorville H.S.,  graduating in 1967. She was employed at Waters Instruments in Rochester for 13 years.  Mary was married on September 14, 1974 in Mantorville to Robert J. Thompson.  Following their marriage the couple lived in Rochester before moving to Stewartville in 1975 , where they raised their daughters and continued to make their home. Mary was a homemaker and was employed at Pace Dairy for  20 years until her retirement. Bob was a longtime employee at Pepsi Cola in Rochester until his retirement. Mary was an avid fisherwoman who enjoyed boating and fishing the Missisippi River and Winona Lake with her husband and family and enjoyed feeding and watching the birds in her yard.  She loved  time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandsons.

Mary is survived by her husband – Robert and  2  daughters -  Tricia Suess (Wade Rentschler) of Spring Valley,MN; Angie Smith of Racine,MN; 6 grandchildren – Marissa Suess (Nate Aswegan) and great grandsons – Logan and Xavier, Tyler Drake, Tanner Suess (Desiree Smith), Dalton Smith, Dane Smith, and Dylan Smith;  1 sister –  Margaret Josselyn of  Apple Valley,MN.  She was preceded by her parents and brother-in –law – Larry Josselyn.

A time of visitation for family and friends will take place from 3 to 5:00 P.M on Sunday (January 17, 2021) at  Griffin-Gray F.H. in Stewartville. Masks are mandatory and safe social distancing procedures will be in place. A private family burial will take place at St. Margarets Catholic Cemetery in Mantorville.  Arrangements are with Griffin-Gray F.H. in Stewartville.
