Colette Hebert Oncale, 98, died on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 2:25 AM. Born April 3, 1922, she was a native and resident of Thibodaux. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Ordoyne Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Saint Joseph Co-Cathedral with burial following at Saint Joseph Cemetery. She is survived by her children, Arthur "Tat" Oncale (Nellie), Lottie Johnson, Mary Alice "Nunnie" Herr (Jan), Davis Oncale (Pam) and Stella Faye Boudreaux (Michael "Frog"); 20 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Nip" Oncale; parents, Arthur and Colette Rozands Hebert; sons, Lester Joseph Oncale and Michael Joseph Oncale; grandson, Ross Anthony Oncale; granddaughter, Tiffany Lenee Herr; son in law, Leroy Johnson; brothers, Emile J. Hebert, Freddy "Fritz" Hebert; sisters, Mary Oncale, Gladys Benoit and Rita Durocher. Colette attended Mt. Carmel. She was a devout Catholic with a strong devotion to the Rosary, praying it daily. She had a beautiful voice, loved to sing and play numerous musical instruments. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother with a beautiful heart and kind soul. She was an excellent cook and her kitchen was always open to everyone. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Lafourche Home for their care and devotion. Ordoyne Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
