Lumber J. Proctor

Lumber J. Proctor 71 year old Holdenville resident since July 2008 passed away Monday January 11, 2021 in Texarkana, Texas. He was born the oldest of 9 children on October 30, 1949 in McIntosh County, Dustin, Oklahoma to the late father that passed July 9, 2019 Charlie James Proctor. Lumber grew up in Oklahoma City area and graduated from Classen High School. He was baptized when he was 12 years old, belong to Many Springs Mission Church in Oklahoma City.

Survivors are Lydia (Wesley) Proctor, 1 son; Vincent Tilley from Wewoka, Oklahoma, 2 daughters; Lori Proctor, Augustine Proctor from Holdenville, Oklahoma, mother Lena (Pigeon) Proctor from Dustin, Oklahoma, 3 brothers; Bill Proctor from Dewar, Oklahoma, Charles Proctor from Henryetta, Oklahoma, Jonas Proctor from Dustin, Oklahoma, 5 sisters; Liz haynes from Holdenville, Oklahoma, Emma Proctor Henryetta, Oklahoma, Rhoda Proctor, Eva Proctor, Tina Proctor from Dustin, Oklahoma. Lumber also lost one son, Virgil Tilley September 27, 2019 and great grandson Aidyn Tilley September2, 2016.

Lumber and Lydia Wesley got married February 19, 2002 in Shawnee, Oklahoma they have 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He enjoyed playing basketball, softball, stickball games in his younger years. Always loved to watch basketball games when his sons, daughter, and grandchildren played for Wewoka High School, even watched some of his family members play. He loved to watch basketball and football games on TV, half of the time can't get him to move from TV. He worked for McCoy Tree Service for 14 years and for Asplundh Tree Service for 11 years, also for Creek Nation Housing awhile and decided to retire in May 2010. Lumber was known as the one that kept the family close and loved them all. He loved family time, his brothers and sisters family and his own family.

Lumber main ceremonial ground was Eufalogee and helped out Greenleaf ceremonial ground for many years. He followed his traditional ways and attended stompdances, for some reason years later, like he retired from that too. You could always find him tinkering outdoors or getting himself busy in the garage; doing this, doing that, mostly listening to ceremonial grounds singing.

Pallbearers are Mandrill Grant, Khalil Jones, Mitchell Tilley, Virgil Tilley, Jr., Ryan Tilley, and Byron Proctor. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Sulphur, Eric Wise, Sammy Gray, Vincent Tilley, Brian Proctor, Gary Mitchell, Bill Proctor, Charles Proctor and Jonas Proctor.

Viewing will be 3:00pm-5:00pm Saturday January 16, 2021 and 1:00pm-5:00pm Sunday January 17, 2021

Wake service will be 6:00pm-8:00pm Monday, January 18, 2021 at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.

Funeral service will be 1:00pm Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Eric Thlocco officiating and Obituary reading by Deacon Jerry Deere of Many Springs Baptist Church.

Interment will be at Proctor - Pigeon Family Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville, Oklahoma.
