Everett Swain

Everett “Stewart” Swain (95) of Leesburg, FL passed away suddenly at the UFHealth Leesburg Hospital in Leesburg, FL January 13, 2021. He was born August 2, 1925 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Stewart is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Margot A. Friz Swain; his brother Henry A. Swain of Canada; his nieces Cynthia Conwell (Mark) of The Villages, FL, Susan Henderson of Niagara Falls, Canada and nephew Hugh C. Swain (Bonnie) of Phoenix, AZ and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry Clinton Swain and Grace A. Herd Swain and brother Hugh C. Swain Sr. Stewart served in the Royal Canadian Air Force for two and a half years. He then served the city of Niagara Falls, Canada as a policeman for five years. During this time, he volunteered on the Erie County/Niagara Falls Recovery team doing scuba-diving for search and rescue in the Niagara River. He worked for Dupont for 18 1/2 years and rounded out his career as senior engineer associate at the Stone Webster Engineering Co. Stewart and Margot traveled extensively. He enjoyed watersports, boating, downhill and cross country skiing and other outdoor activities. He was a quiet and reserved man. Yet all wrapped in the same man was a loving thoughtful husband, and loyal friend. “A friend is a friend for life.” He has left beautiful memories and will be greatly missed.
