Grove, 78, of Palmyra passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021.&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Born April 25, 1942 in Hershey, he was a son of the late Frank C. and Beatrice (Keller) Grove and preceded in death by a brother James C. Grove.&nbsp;He was part of the last graduating class from Hummelstown High School in 1960.&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Bill retired from Hershey Foods as an electrician where he helped in the construction and design of warehouses in California, Utah, St. Louis, MO, Hazelton, PA and Staunton, VA. He was a brakeman&nbsp;on the Strasburg Railroad for 25 years and he tuned and rebuilt player pianos.&nbsp;&nbsp;He served in the Pennsylvania National Guard and was Past President, Secretary and Treasurer of the Hummelstown Optimist Club, he also volunteered for the National Railway Historical Society.&nbsp;He enjoyed playing the piano, doing the New York Times Crossword Puzzle and studying local history and genealogy.&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Surviving are his wife of 52 years Shirley M. (Lewis) Grove;&nbsp;children Barbara Grove Karwoski of Monrovia, MD, John W. Grove of Alexandria, VA, Frank D. Grove (Heide) of Palmyra and Steven M. Grove of Annville;&nbsp;grandchildren Andrew Bollmer (Ashley), Michelle Peverley, Parker Grove and Wyatt Grove; and great grandson Hayden Bollmer; brother Donald R. Grove of Union Deposit also survives.</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>A viewing will be held 10:00 &ndash; 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra.&nbsp;&nbsp;A private service with interment in Hummelstown Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson&#39;s Research or Friends of East Broad Top Railroad, PO Box 81, Sarver, PA 16055.</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

William L. Grove, 78, of Palmyra passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021. 

 

Born April 25, 1942 in Hershey, he was a son of the late Frank C. and Beatrice (Keller) Grove and preceded in death by a brother James C. Grove. He was part of the last graduating class from Hummelstown High School in 1960. 

 

Bill retired from Hershey Foods as an electrician where he helped in the construction and design of warehouses in California, Utah, St. Louis, MO, Hazelton, PA and Staunton, VA.
