Norma Lee Shenkle

Norma Lee “Cookie” Shenkle, 84, Bellwood died Tuesday morning January 12, 2021 at UPMC Altoona. She was born June 17, 1936 in Dubois, daughter of the late Harry W. and Mary (Russell) Shenkle. Surviving are a nephew, Roger B. Shenkle of Jessup, Md.; a niece, Lisa A. (Rick) Schiappacasse of Pasadena, Md.; and her sister in law, Lois Shenkle of Littlestown. She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald H. Shenkle. Norma retired as director of Blair County Children and Youth Services. She was a graduate of Moody Bible Institute and a member of Logan’s Valley Baptist Church, Bellwood. She enjoyed flower gardening, reading and doing crossword puzzles. Cookie also enjoyed volunteering her time at The Hope Center, Bellwood. Friends will be received from 1 to 2pm, Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 2pm, Saturday at the funeral home, Pastor Stan Gill officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
