Dorothy Marie DeLong, 99, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 12, 2021. Dorothy was born September 20, 1921 in Chillicothe, Ohio to Edward and Magdalene Ziegler.

“Love bears all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” (1 Corinthians 13:7)

Dorothy has left this world as elegantly as anyone ever has. She lived the life she was intended to live.

Her purpose was to love and serve God, and that love transcended into her humility, kindness, generosity and the joy that she gave to all she touched throughout her life. Dorothy was a loving, wise, courageous, forgiving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Dorothy's passion was prayer, family and friends and will be greatly missed. Thank you so much Mom for touching us and showing us how to love.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband Donald, her parents Edward and Magdalene, brothers Edward, Robert, John and daughter-in-law Joan (Thomas) DeLong.

Left to cherish the memory of Dorothy include her children Ginny (Robert) Gregory, Stephen (Patricia) DeLong, Margene (Brian) McLoughlin, Thomas (Mary) DeLong, and Donna (Steven) Vohsing. Grandchildren Kimberly (Joseph) Clark, Tim Baumgardner, Christopher DeLong, Leslie (Todd) Morrison, Andy (Jill) McLoughlin, Shaun (Laura) McLoughlin, Adam DeLong, Heather (Justin) Brewer, and Tony (Chandra) Vohsing. Great Grandchildren: Abigail, Nicholas, Devon, Allison, Joy, Kathryn, Aidan, Cassady, Alexander, Caroline, Nathan, Kently, and Tucker.

A viewing and mass will be held for the immediate family at Christ the King Church, Columbus, Ohio. Burial to follow at St. Margaret's Cemetery, Chillicothe, Ohio by EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME. Visit egan-ryan.com for condolences and live streaming of the Mass to be held 10 a.m. Monday.
