Mary Ann Hayes Obituary

Hayes, Mary Ann (Scaduto), of Medford, January 12, 2021. Beloved wife of Paul J. Hayes. Devoted mother of Jacqueline Bruno and her husband Michael of Norwell, Cheryl Todisco, her husband Michael of Andover, Karen Fenton and her husband Daniel, of Duxbury. Proud and loving grandmother of Madeline and Audrey Bruno, Jaclyn Todisco, her husband Chris Goodrich, Michael H. Todisco and his fiancee Maggie Thompson, and Abigail and Emma Fenton. Caring sister of Josephine Vaglio of NY, her late husband Pasquale, Antoinette McKee, her husband Frank of NC and the late Gus Sancis. Thoughtful aunt to many special nieces and nephews. Mary Ann was a dedicated, loving mother first and foremost. She cared deeply for her family and absolutely adored her grandchildren whom she spoiled endlessly with her time and generosity. Mary Ann was married to her true love Paul and together they shared 60 loving years prioritizing family and creating a warm, cheerful home filled with comforting smells of Mary Ann’s famous Italian cooking. Grandma’s stuffed mushrooms, artichokes, salami bread and steak pizzaiola were known to lift spirits and cure any sorrow. A kind-hearted soul with an exuberance for life, Mary Ann made friends everywhere she went. Her customers at Stop and Shop, where she worked for over 30 years, loved her as well. Mary Ann was a remarkably strong, optimistic woman who modeled courage and resiliency always. Her legacy is her close-knit family, extraordinary kindness and zest for life. A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Raphael’s Church, 512 High St, Medford, Monday, January 18th at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Please go directly to the church. Interment will be private.
