<p>Della M. Kingbird &ldquo;Ogimaa Benaysig&rdquo;, 77, of Cass Lake, MN died Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.</p> <p>Della M. Kingbird was born September 23, 1943. She graduated from Cass Lake High School and continued to live in the Mission and worked for Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe for 50 years, the last 29 with the land department. Della was an avid sports fan, watching the Minnesota Vikings play every Sunday. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren in their sports activities. She was their loudest and biggest supporter. Della enjoyed rummaging and going to thrift stores. She especially enjoyed thrifting with her granddaughters. She liked to refer to thrift stores as &ldquo;my stores&rdquo;. Della liked to spend her evenings watching Steve Harvey of Family feud, Aaron Hotchner of Criminal Minds and the Golden Girls series.</p> <p>Those that welcome Della are her mother, her sons, Corey and Everett &ldquo;Gomez&rdquo; Whitebird and an infant daughter, Kari; her brothers, Daniel, Arnold and Sydney Kingbird and Leroy Staples Sr. and her sister, Loretta Brown and aunt, Elizabeth &ldquo;Nybeek&rdquo; Hardy.</p> <p>Those she leaves behind are her daughters, Diane and Connie (Joe Wilson); sister, Elizabeth &ldquo;Roonie&rdquo; Kingbird; her son-in-law, Calvin Jackson; her grandchildren, Allen Hardy, Jordan Kingbird (Mart), Cierra, Arnold (Candace), Cohl (Quint), Shane, Todd, Nelly and Cale; her great-grandchildren, Jordince, Haven, Martin, Jr., Halen, Mia and Shane III.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Della M. Kingbird “Ogimaa Benaysig”, 77, of Cass Lake, MN died Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.

Della M. Kingbird was born September 23, 1943.
