JACKIE THEA WALKER Obituary

WALKER, JACKIE THEA, age 76, of Osceola Avenue, Coventry, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. He was the husband of Jean Marie (Grady) Walker for 53 years. Born in Lubbock, Texas, he was a son of the late Vernard G. and Theola (Harrington) Walker.

 

After graduating from High School in Lubbock, Texas, Jackie enlisted in the United States Navy.

He served as a Radarman in Vietnam from August 21, 1964 to August 7, 1968. After an honorable discharge, Jackie was a Patrolman on the Providence Police Department for 23 years before retiring in 1990. While on the Police Department, Jackie earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement from Bryant College. After retirement, Jackie and Jean focused onoperating their Antique business Walker & Company.

 

He was the father of Michael J. Walker and Loraine M. Coutu and her husband Bill all of Coventry. He was the brother of Judy Claire of Texas. He is also survived by a granddaughter Autumn Walker.

 

Due to the Pandemic, a private Committal Service with Military Honors will be held at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter. Arrangements are with the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd., (Rte.3) Coventry. iannottifh.com
