Peter Glenn Greer, 70, of Kennesaw, Georgia passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021, after a long-time illness in a local hospital. Peter was from Port Jefferson, NY. He moved to Georgia in 1973 where he started and ran a successful lawn care business. Later in life, he entered the healthcare field as a Dietary Manager at Shoreham Nursing Home for which he has for 15 years. While at Shoreham he met his wife JoAnn Greer. He later retired from the maintenance department at Woodstock Nursing Home. Peter enjoyed taking care of the elderly and was loved by all he cared for and his co-workers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn & Eleanor Greer, and Father-in-Law, Joe Brown. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, JoAnn Greer; and dog Sheena; sister, Linda Greer of Spokane, WA; Step-Sisters, Beverly Craft of Marietta, GA and Gloria Rice of Las Vegas, NV; Mother-in-Law, Opal Foster of Trenton, GA; Brother-in-Law, Ed (Shonda) Long; best friend of over 40 years, Carl Demare of Marietta, GA; as well as several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. He was the love of my life, my best friend. I will always love you, Peter rest in heaven. -JoAnn
