Romeo G. Cote

On Monday, January 11, 2021 Romeo G. Cote, 89 passed from this life with his beloved wife of 61 years, Rose (Jutras) Dumoulin Cote by his side. Romeo was born May 12, 1931 in Berlin, New Hampshire to the late Edgar and Leontine (Roy) Cote. He attended local schools and his strong faith led him to enter the seminary with the intention of be coming a brother. But God had other plans for Romeo and he met a young widow with three small children. They were married on July 25, 1959 and he became a devoted father to Rose’s three and two more to come. Besides his wife, left to morn his passing are a daughter Claire Sauve and husband Robert of Oxford, CT, sons; Roger Dumoulin and wife Gail of Enfield, Denis Dumoulin of Key West, FL, Mark Cote and wife Jane of Enfield, and a sister Margaret LaFrance and husband Robert of Berlin, New Hampshire. He was also a proud grandpa to 8 grandchildren and great grandpa to 9 great grandchildren all of whom he loved dearly. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son David Cote and three brothers Rosaire, Maurice, and Robert. He retired from Travelers Insurance Co. in 1992 and he and Rose spent many years traveling to New Hampshire and Canada to visit family and friends. He loved to play golf with Rose and his sons, he and Rose became snowbirds, caravanning to Florida with his brothers and sisters-in-law to be able to play golf year round. Romeo was a parishioner of St. Martha Church for over 50 years. Memorial donations in his name may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 1365 Enfield Street Enfield, CT 06082. Due to the pandemic services for Romeo will be held at a future date. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, July 24, 2021 with a visitation period from 8 to 9:30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Martha Parish, Enfield. Interment will take place in St. Patrick;s King St. Cemetery, Enfield.

I worked with Romeo in 1980 at the Travelers print shop, he was a great guy, he invited me to Bible study, and we became friends quickly, I left the print shop in 1983, but I'll never forget him and I was blessed to know him. I'm sorry for your loss.
