Kenneth Ellington was born on Sunday, July 6, 1952, in Wilmington, Delaware, to Mack and Mary Ellington, both of whom preceded him in death. Kenneth transitioned into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at home. Kenneth resided at Stockley Center, until he transferred into his neighborhood group home, South Union, in 2001. Kenneth attended Easter Seals Community Service program and the Hurlock Center on the Delaware side, for the day program. Kenneth was a part of Special Olympics Bowling and Boy Scouts at Stockley Center. Kenneth enjoyed ARC dances, music, big radio and listening to Michael Jackson. He also enjoyed going on trips to Georgetown and to Ocean City to walk on the boardwalk. Kenneth loved to eat and some of his favorites were fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, subs and strawberry milkshakes. He loved attending church with the staff. Kenneth loves his people “my people”. Kenneth leaves to cherish his memories, a nephew, James Earl Ellington of Milford, Delaware; an adopted nephew, Sean Thomas of Lincoln, Delaware; housemates, Leroy, Granford and Thomas; extended family, Tamekia “Mo”, Tomoka, Marea “Rea” , Angie “Angie Ponytail”, Ester Davis, Nicole “Cole”, Emma, Janet, Cindy, Annette “Benette”, Katrina “Trina” and Gale King.
